We are seeking an experienced Senior Media and Communications Advisor to work in our busy Communication Services team. This is a full-time fixed-term or secondment role until August 14 2020, to cover parental leave.
You will be able to provide excellent media and public relations advice, proactively develop and implement communication plans and use your media networks to build trust and confidence in the work we do for New Zealanders.
A skilled all-round communicator with a passion for media, you will understand government, have political nous and be experienced working in a large organisation dealing with complex and sensitive issues. A great multi-tasker and networker, you will build and sustain productive internal and external relationships, including with the Strategic Leadership Team and the Judiciary.
A large part of this role is dedicated to implementing strategic media and communications activity for Coronial Services of New Zealand. You will also support the day-to-day media work of the Ministry of Justice.
You will have great editorial judgment and a commitment to developing strategy and content across channels and formats, including social media. You will be happy to mentor junior team members across the Communication Services Team. You will be cool in a crisis and able to scan the environment for issues and determine the best approach to challenges when they arise.

Salary range: $83,219 - $117,485
