The Team
Are you interested in helping people with mental illness improve their mental and physical health by teaching, motivating and supporting them to make healthier food choices? We are seeking a reliable and self-motivated New Zealand Registered Dietitian to provide effective, evidence based, dietetic services to our clients and their families across inpatient Mental Health Services.
This is a permanent, part-time role working 20 hours per week within our Specialist Mental Health Services based at Hillmorton Hospital.
The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Assessing and diagnosing nutrition-related conditions in the client/client group
- Formulating and implementing appropriate dietary prescriptions and/treatment plans
- Evaluating treatment outcomes and modifying treatment according to changing needs
Your skills:
- The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a wide range of patients, family/whanau and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently and reliably
- It is essential that you are an New Zealand Registered Dietitian
- Dietetic experience across the spectrum from nutrition support to chronic physical health conditions is preferred
- Previous experience working in a Mental Health setting and/or a tertiary qualification in psychology is desirable
