Our High Hazards, Energy and Public Safety team are looking to appoint a Deputy Chief Inspector, Major Hazard Facilities to our Auckland Central office.
The Deputy Chief Inspector will take responsibility for managing the major hazards regulatory function and activities. Working with the Chief Inspector High Hazards and key internal and external stakeholders, you'll review and implement strategies to ensure the delivery of robust and effective systems and services.You'll also be responsible for:To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:
- Providing excellent leadership, guidance and direction to your team
- Ensuring programmes of work tie into wider operational and organisational strategies
- Planning and implementing programmes of inspection and auditing work and managing resourcing plans accordingly
About WorkSafe
- Experience in a senior operational management position within a major Major Hazard Facilities operation, or significant experience in a senior regulatory role within a relevant industry or industry regulator
- Experience with interpretation and application of legislation, preferably including investigative and enforcement responsibilities
- Demonstrated experience as a change agent who can advocate for industry improvements and influence best practice
