The Role

Plans and implements sales to specific very major accounts of high strategic importance where cultivating relationships, identifying opportunities and account management skills are critical. Seen as being a unique authority in a specific area of work and is visible and influential across the business. Has high levels of personal impact, demonstrates leadership qualities, and is inspirational to others.

Key Accountabilities

Specific to this level

  • Maintains and expands long term relationships for the purpose of generating renewal and yield/cross-sell business.
  • Identifies opportunities, including leveraging existing contacts and generating leads in complex buying situations.
  • Liaises closely with regional/local account managers and develops relevant networks of senior stakeholders
  • Prepares complex proposals and solutions that require creativity, entrepreneurialism and specialist knowledge
  • Executes a marketing plan for a particular product, service or specialty area while working within established marketing systems
  • Provides input into the development of procedures for an area within the organisation, then monitors the implementation of those procedures.
  • Analyses specified problems and issues to find the best technical and/or professional solutions
  • May manage a small sub-sector and be accountable for the creation and delivery of a specific sales growth plan

Core to all levels

  • Responds in an appropriate and timely way to client needs
  • Navigates a wide variety of existing processes, procedures and precedents to interpret data and identify possible answers
  • Tracks and updates client information and opportunities in customer relationship management systems
  • Engage with manager regularly to discuss pre-sale activity levels, new results, future meetings, pipeline, approaches to be successful, and technical/account management support needed to assist in sale
  • Prepares presentations, proposals and sales contracts
  • Communicates new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity
  • Provides accurate pipelines and forecasts
  • Complies with contracting and account administration processes to ensure that contractual, legal and invoicing requirements are met and high levels of efficiency maintained.

Skills & Experience

  • Will typically have around 8-10 years’ experience in account management
  • Deep expertise in Reward, as well as understanding of broader KF offerings
  • Significant experience in consultative selling and pre/post sales activities within professional services
  • Demonstrates strong learning orientation and intellectual curiosity
  • Will regularly present at forums and write about a specialist area
  • Seeks and acts on feedback, without defensiveness
  • Coaches and mentors junior staff
  • Looks for ways to help their teams be successful
  • Serves as a technical resource to others within area of expertise
  • Known for producing high quality, timely work that meets or exceeds client expectations
  • Competent in multiple solution areas, and may have expertise beyond one solution area
  • Leads largest projects with success
